Sicilian-born, Teresa Vitale is a renaissance artist.  She applies ancient techniques with a modern twist.  In her twenty years of business, she has created custom trompe l'oeil painting on walls, furniture, canvas and architectural features.  Recently she restored her one hundred and sixty-plus year old carriage house into a studio.  There she creates her transportable art.  Vitale has designed a collection of hand-painted wallpapers with companion architectural moldings.  Her other passion is restoration.  Old fireplace surrounds, pillars and furniture become heirloom pieces that are timeless, practical and one of a kind.  Her studio is open by appointment only.  Located at 38 S. Main St, Jordan, NY. Phone # is 315-689-5037.  Her web site is as follows: www.tav-designs.com.  Teresa is also part of an artist cooperative in Skaneateles, NY.  There her portfolio is on display as well as her one of a kind creations.  For more information visit www.SkaneatelesArtisans.com

For the past year and a half, Teresa Vitale has been working on developing an open artist studio tour and art trail along the Erie Canal and connective corridor.  Currently she is working with Hannah Blake from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and Lori Skoog from the Art Walks on Water, to develop this initiative.  Her initiative is called " Canaltown Studios And Art Trails ".  The goal is to develop the small villages and communities in upstate NY, by collaborating art appreciation, economic growth, history and culture.  Please help us find the way to make this happen real soon by visiting http://www.ErieCanalway.org/explore_things-to-do_art.htm .

Teresa was highlighted in the May 2009 issue of Central New York Home & Garden, a new local magazine. Please feel free to click the magazine name above.  To see Teresa's work and read the article, click the "Archive" button, and page down to click the May Issue cover.  I think you might enjoy this new local magazine .. and it's free!  Ciao
